Flower’s Childfree Story
I don't know where to begin, as being child-free has been beneficial to my life in many ways. I first want to share that I technically have a mental health disability and having the heavy burden of being solely responsible for a child would ruin my life.
Despite my mental health challenges, I can work towards pursuing my dream of a certain career and traveling. Not having children gives me freedom in many ways, from the smallest of things such as sleeping in a little extra, to even big life events like planning to move to another country.
Roughly 2 years ago, I made the decision to be sterilized and was met with raised eyebrows when I shared about it proudly and would always end with, "Congratulations are welcome." I think that being childfree should come with celebration and congratulations for the fact that it is a level of self-love and care but also compassion to reduce the harm of procreation because bringing someone into existence guarantees harm.
